"It's not just a community,
but a social experience."
The Capão Valley is the scene of spontaneous events and demonstrations. Most of the foreign residents who arrived in the region since the beginning of the 1980s, emerged from street artists, wandering artisans, and people from different social strata in search of an alternative way of life. Even today, streams of talented people continue to arrive to enrich the local alternative culture. For this reason, it is common to be surprised in the village square with circus performances, musical concerts in the bandstand and artisans displaying their work.
In addition, the valley has the presence of circo do capão, which in addition to hosting resident artists and occasionally offering shows and workshops, serves as a space for presentations and cultural events. Within the community there are dance and music groups that offer workshops, musical instrument makers, photographers, actors, jugglers, etc.
Not only in the center of the village but also throughout the valley, you will find cuisine that reflects its history and diversity. From local cuisine with popular restaurants to Italian restaurants, bistros, excellent pizzerias, cafes with authentic menus and fusion cuisine. Bars are mostly open-air, perfect for hot summer nights. While strolling through the village, keep an eye out for announcements about events and concerts..
